We pay tons of fees to USCIS
The fee we pay is very less compare to what we pay to Attorneys. And USCIS cannot drastically increase fees. And we are stuck. That is the reality.
I think we should cut a check of same amount what we pay to attorneys.

You are right, it will be tough to dig into an agency that does approve your status here.
Fortunately the US justice system works for everybody. Thats the hallmark of this great country.
Anybody can go to a court and seek justice if they feel they have been harmed or suffered losses even by a govt body.
Ample evidence is available in court records for cases against USCIS by GC applicants for delays and errors. This not an opinion but a fact.
In this country you just don't get screwed or get a cold shoulder for seeking justice within the written laws.
Unfortunately numbskulls like villamonte and DED don't have a mental capacity to understand these concepts

Myself (primary applicant) and my spouse are on h1 with EADs. If spouse starts a company(issue checks and do all admin work) and still maintain her h1 with old employer, will it invalidate her h1 just because she used EAD? Reason for asking is if some thing goes wrong with 485, can she fall back on h1?

It means USCIS has pre-adjudicated your I-485 if it was filed before october 2008.
i thought it meant that you had to wait 4 months after your priority date is current to have any expectation of adjudication... no?

I feel that initiator of this thread is not trying a coup d'�tat. He is merely pointing to the fact that every organization runs by elected officials. Having a life term president and core group is only heard in autocratic systems but not in a democratic one. What are we as an organization?
Why are we afraid of discussing new ideas? Why shouldn't we open up IV organization for elections? There is nothing wrong in declaring the rules and then playing by those rules.

Thats ridiculous. I recently bought a home and got FHA loan from Chevy Chase Bank. To my surprise, they did not ask me a single immigration related document or any proof of legal presence. All they ever asked was a valid ID during closing, and I showed them my drivers license.

I continue to hear reports from sources I consider credible that the CIS is putting on a major push to clean up the I-140 backlogs. If this is true, look for a lot of I--140 approvals soon and a return to premium processing shortly thereafter.

There is no need for people to call USCIS. The PD date movement is based on demand. Even for a worst case scenario, USCIS should use 3300 visas for EB3-I. By Aug 2009, if they have only used 1000 visas, then DOS will move the PD for EB3-I by a couple of months.
Now my prediction. We will see PD current for all categories except for EB3-I/EB2-I/EB2-C in by August 2009. EB3-I would reach 2003 Jan. EB2-I and EB2-C will reach 2006 Jan.
I have no real basis for my prediction. Like Michael Crichton would say, no body can predict the future. We can only guess about what would happen in the future. Some of that guess is a calculated/informed guess; still it is just a guess.

My lawyer received it on Dec 16th - they said that they need at least 2 weeks to answer the RFE. They also mentioned that the RFE doesn''t ask for any specific paperwork , its like a Question-Answer Form.

c) How you benchmark performance in the company

Is this not the reason they (U.S government) have a process to issue certificate from labor department to prove that the company could not hire an American for which some of us had to wait 5 years!!! Talk about abuse of power by USCIS.....

It is April new numbers for the quarter will be available.My guess is EB2 I will move beyond April 1 2004.Once it crossess 2004 then it will be almost in 2006 not many cases in 2005.
