Today I got a letter from USCIS office at Lee's Summit, MO stating that it would cost app $5000 for the customozed computer program to retrive the data.
I can contribute if IV decide to sign up for this.

Similar to other callers, the lady who answered the phone took my name and where I am calling from and said she will pass on the mesasge to the Congressman.

I am assuming that EB2 India will have a cut-off date of atleast June 2006 for Aug as well as Sep. The time window of approvals is Aug 1 2008 to Sep 30 2008. In this time frame, they will have to pull the files from shelves and make them ready for adjudication.
I also remember from I-485 field SOP, that first step is to contact US Consulate abroad where you filled your DS-156 if you traveled within last 12 months for any discrepancy. This step itself can take a long time.
Then there are a lot of people who had PD current but they haven't done finger-printing yet. Imagine time required to schedule fingerprints, appear for one, and then get the results.
Just my thoughts.

However , on the normal course you would think USCIS should start doing the Prep work like getting the files from ware house to production line as soon as they have the Visa bulletin is published.

I applied for my AP renewal on June 2nd by mail and the same got delivered on June 8th but no reply as of now. I sent me personal check for 305 USD. Please advice.

In my case, I filed through an attorney with TSC. My papers were Fedexed to reach on 6/2 and my attorney sent me scanned copy of receipt notice on 6/8, not sure when he received the RN's but the Receipt Date / Notice Date in the Recipet Notice is 6/2, If your documents reached on 6/8 which is a Monday, leave it a couple days and followup. You have to leave some time for the actual RN to reach you via USPS as well. The payment was made for my case to the Attorney and they cut a check for USCIS. So I do not know how soon the checks will be encashed. Good luck with your renewal process.

I had emailed CIS Ombudsman's requesting temporary relief in such uncertain times...by allowing ppl to file for AOS..even if their PD is not current.
They replied to me ..but i think a more co-ordinated and deluge of such requests will make them take this issue seriously.
So what did his office say? Is there a new OB in office yet?

Hi,
Can some suggest me what my wife (on valid H1B visa and AP) and daughter (us citizen) need to carry along with them. I am just curious to know if there is any change in documents required to carry with them. As of now, I am expecting them to carry their passports, PIO (daughter) and AP (for my wife) along with them. Do you suggest any thing more? Thanks in advange for all your suggestions.
If your wife's H1B is valid (unexpired), she is fine. If not, she need to take a flight which does not stop in (most) European countries which require Transit Visa.
If your wife is maintaining H1 status she can enter on H1, if she is using EAD, she need to enter using AP.
As for your daughter, she is fine with her US Passport and PIO

I want to see action too, but with 100 members scattered all across texas, it just doesn't make sense.
Even in flower campaign a few brave ones bore the burden, the rest were watching. For any action that IV leadership picks, how can we ensure success if we don't get the commitment of members?
By joining your state chapter you are making that commitment that you are willing to be contacted by IV, and willing to stand by the organization in the hour of action.
If you are already a member, convince a friend to do the same. This organization needs committed members. We are not asking you to have to volunteer five hours a week, but when its D-Day, are you willing you stand up?

You should be EB10 and not EB2! Some folks in this forum are really crazy!
There is no relationship between approval/duration of EAD and movement of PDs.
By the way, since India won all the previous encounters with Pak in world cups, India will win on Wednesday!

Now a days any junior, if they ask me about GC process, I ask them what is the law firm of the company and find out how company handles GCs. Like, do they file at the last moment? do they get into a holding pattern and delay everything etc? One of the questions I directly ask people who seek my advice is , is the company's law firm fragomen? If they say yes, I ask them to talk to their manager and stay away from fragomen and change their jobs if its a slow process.
